I think it's safe

Here are the promised pictures of the house the wife and I are buying. It was built in 1900. Yes it is 106 years old. It's about ten minutes south of downtown Seattle in the neighborhood of South Park (get your jokes out now). We move in July and will have a party soon afterwards.

federalcheese. . .spanning the globe

Well if it wasn't enough that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad openly challenged the premise of my senior project, "Back to Hegel: How the West Won" a few weeks ago, now it looks like Mexican President Vicente Fox will be speaking less than a block from my potential new house when he visits Seattle later this week. The ultimate hat trick will be spotting Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez at the local happy hour on Friday night. It could happen.

Excuses

It’s been an interesting couple of months for federalcheese. I’ve almost bought a house (pictures to come when we are safely past the “you’ll jinx it by posting photos” phase) and the new job has been a transition. I’ve also come to the realization that I am like my father in yet another category. I don’t maintain correspondence with friends. There’s Mark Krames who I was at one time supposed to be writing a movie with.

There’s Chris Gomez who is one of the most loyal friends a guy could ever have.

There’s my Grandma who called on my wedding anniversary and has yet to here back.

Other people I have lost touch with, from left to right: Diane, the drummer in "Tarp" a brief adventure in rock music I was a part of. Andrew Alexander, who has since moved to the East Coast. Myself. Chris Gomez, mentioned above. And Jameson Swanagon who has also since moved to the East Coast.

Look, I’ll admit it. I’m an asshole. As hard as I try, I’ll always be an asshole. My only hope is that my true friends know that they are always in my thoughts. I’ll be in touch soon, I promise.

I know, I know

I have been neglecting my duties here at federalcheese in the past weeks, but here are my legitimate excuses. 1. I was recently promoted within my company and started at a new store a mere three days ago. There is a lot that needs to be done at the new locale and, yes, it keeps me up at night. 2. The Ginge and I are putting offers in on houses in the Seattle area on a weekly basis and, yes, it keeps me up at night. Finally, I have been neglecting my cats recently and am trying to spend any spare time with them. Sorry federalcheese readers, but more is coming soon. In the meantime, here are a couple photos to consider.
