Trolley Dodgers v. Metropolitans

I recently attended a baseball game courtesy of Justin Cooley. Justin, Melissa Compagnucci, Ginger and I made the trek to Dodger Stadium Sunday in order to watch the Dodgers and Mets battle it out. It didn’t go well for this Giants fan. Pedro Martinez almost threw a no-no (no hitter), but Antonio Perez ended his bid to join Mets history with a triple in the eighth. Jayson Werth followed with a two-run homer officially turning Martinez’s masterful performance into a notch in the loss column. Despite being surrounded by Dodger fans and that near fistfight with a jackass in a Miata, it was a pretty good time. Probably my last to Dodger Stadium for a while, but then again, it’s where the Dodgers play so what am I really missing out on, right? Anyway, thanks Justin for the tickets, for driving, for paying for gas, and for being such a good friend. Gag.

I can't believe it's over!

Yes, somebody has successfully identified the "old, dead person" to which I resemble. And it was none other than my youngest brother Daniel. Daniel took one look at federalcheese and guessed. . .Simon Bolivar. Congrats to mi hermano and I owe you a pack of Marboro Menthals. By the way Daniel, why did it take you so long to look at my blog. The picture's been up for like three months!

You know what's great about sports?

It's not the phenomenal play of the all-stars. It's not the all out, never-give-up struggle to be first to the finish line. No, it's the fact that last place teams, with nothing to lose, can pull off some remarkable moves just to spice things up. Take the Seattle Mariners and their new rookie phenom, Felix Hernandez. Hernandez has all the signs of being a superstar and he was born in . . .1986! Nineteen years old! Not to mention he looks like Odalis Perez's twin brother.
